When you buy ANEW technology (wind, water, solar, storage or distribution), a tree comes with it at no extra cost. We plant it and you monitor it online, or you receive a young tree and plant it yourself. Real photographs, credited to the people who took them. Switch to Growth by year, or drag the slider, and every tree in view grows from a seedling to its size at that age. Some photos are close-ups of a leaf, fruit or flower and are marked.
What one tree does
Some of this we can measure, and some we can only describe. We tell you which is which.
It holds carbon
A growing tree takes CO₂ from the air and keeps the carbon in its wood, roots and leaves. Your tree page shows the modelled total for your species, year by year.
It cools and cleans
Shade and the water a tree releases cool the air around it, and leaves catch dust. A street or farm with trees is noticeably cooler on a hot day.
It protects water and soil
Roots hold soil in place. A canopy and leaf litter slow heavy rain, so more of it soaks in instead of running off.
It feeds and houses wildlife
Native trees feed and shelter native insects, birds and mammals that evolved with them. That is why we plant trees native to where they go.
It supports people
When we plant it, our planting partners are paid to plant and care for each tree. Food trees add fruit and nuts for local families, and timber trees add long-term work.
It is a long promise
Most of a tree's carbon is stored over decades, not months. That is why we keep a record of your tree for years and show you the growth.
